AICPA and Greater Washington Society of CPAs Announce Five Winners of Women to Watch Award Program Recgonizes Women of Accomplishment in CPA Profession

Washington, DC - Five female CPAs from the DC-Metropolitian region are recipients of the Women to Watch Award, co-sponsored by the Women's Initiatives Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs.

The program, which is in its second year, highlights the accomplishments of women in the CPA profession. There are three categories of awards: Experienced Leaders, given to more established members of the profession; Emerging Leaders, for new professionals; and Community Leader, women who provide opportunities for the integration of women's personal and professional lives and the advancement of women to leadership positions.

GWSCPA Board President, R. Mike Sorrells, CPA, was quoted, "each of the nominees are here today because they have exemplified outstanding characteristics that enable all of us, as CPAs, to do our jobs better and who have been recgonized by their peers and colleagues."

The Greater Washington Women to Watch were honored on October 24, 2014 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC. The awards were presented by past Women to Watch awardees.
