This was the inaugural year for the Margaret DeBoe Leadership Academy program. A year-long program that offers younger staff the ability to learn how to become stronger in management, communication or other “soft” skills, so that they could step up to business development roles more effectively. The first year consisted of 15 individuals from local area firms, 10 of which were present at the annual meeting to graduate and receive their certificates of completion.
Incoming board members were voted on during the business portion of the annual meeting. Marie Caputo, CPA; Susan Colladay, CPA; Heather Flanagan, CPA; Maria Georges; Sajeev Malaveetil, CPA; Kathleen Malloy; and Joy Whitlow, CPA were all welcomed to the FY18 GWSCPA Board of Governors.
We also heard the insightful outlook from incoming president, Alex Galeano, CPA. Along with Rachel Dresen, CPA, CGMA as the keynote speaker.
The day ended with a cocktail reception which included live music, cocktails, hors d’ouvres and friends.
