FASAB Call for Candidates - March 15 Deadline
The Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB or “the Board”) is seeking qualified candidates to serve on the Board. FASAB comprises nine members—three are representatives from FASAB’s federal sponsors and six are selected from the general financial community, the accounting and auditing community, and academe. On June 30, 2019, two of these non-federal members’ terms will end.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as:
• analysts of financial information,
• economists or forecasters,
• preparers of financial information, or
• those otherwise knowledgeable regarding the use of financial information in decision making.
Candidates may not be current employees of the federal government unless such employment will end before the appointment. Interviews for non-federal member positions are anticipated to be held in August 2018. Non-federal members are responsible for acting in the public interest, avoiding conflicts of interest and undue influence, actively participating in the activities of the Board, and obtaining and retaining a security clearance. Responsibilities and qualifications of members are described in detail in the Statement of Responsibilities and Characteristics of Members of the FASAB.
Please submit questions or responses to Ms. Wendy Payne, FASAB’s executive director, via the contact information below. Responses should include the name of the candidate and contact information. If possible, please provide a resume. The deadline for submission is March 15, 2018.
