Changes to the District of Columbia Motor Fuel Tax Filing Requirements

The District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR) is making changes to its Motor Fuel tax filing process. Effective October 29, 2018, all importers who engage in selling motor fuel in the District, and/or bring fuel for use for excavating equipment on a District construction site, will be required to file their monthly Motor Fuel (FR-400M) tax return and payments via OTR’s online tax portal, MyTax.DC.gov.

October Filing Deadline Extended

Due to the conversion to a new system, OTR is extending the Motor Fuel Tax filing deadline to November 1, 2018, for the September 2018 tax return, which would be due on October 25, 2018.

With MyTax.DC.gov, taxpayers will be able to submit returns, schedule and make payments, view account information, transaction history, set up payment plans, and much more. (DC.gov)
