ASIS International, a professional membership organization located in Alexandria, VA with 35,000 global members seeks a strong financial professional to serve as its Staff Accountant. 

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of assigned journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and other reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers.  He/she will also prepare monthly roll-forward schedules, PBC items and gather documentation in preparation of fiscal year audit and tax returns.  The Staff Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager in gathering data for tax, VAT and other compliance reporting.  

Successful candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years of general ledger maintenance and demonstrated success performing account reconciliations. Experience working in a non-profit setting is strong plus. 

Must have excellent computer skills including experience using corporate accounting software, and a demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office suite.  4-5 years’ experience in financial statement preparation and previous experience using Great Plains and Association Management Systems (netFORUM preferred) is ideal.  A B.S. in accounting, CPA candidacy or candidacy track is also highly desired.

We're looking for an individual who is organized and thorough with the ability to track and document in detail. Ability to meet recurring deadlines with a high level of accuracy.  Strong math skills as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to be persistent and patient. Must possess a basic knowledge of GAAP.

The Justice Research and Statistics Association (www.jrsa.org) seeks a grant accounting manager at its Washington, DC office location.  The grant accounting manager reports directly to the Accounting & Operations Manager.  JRSA is primarily funded by federal awards.  The grant accounting manager will be responsible for all activity related to the management of federal awards such as managing grant proposal budgets, preparing grant reporting for individual grants and for JRSA in its entirety, reviewing monthly grant reporting with program managers, preparing drawdowns, and ensuring that JRSA meets all of the guidelines in SubPart F of the Uniform Guidance, including management of JRSA’s subrecipient monitoring, and calculating JRSA’s indirect cost rate.

Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary:

The Part-Time CFO acts as a strategic business partner to the senior management team; creating and managing both short- and long-term financial plans that align with and enable the strategic direction and growth of Halcyon.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates Halcyon’s fiscal function and performance, including the implementation of a financial dashboard which provides real-time reports and forecasts. 
  • Educating Halcyon staff on how to maximize use of the financial dashboard.
  • Works with the senior management team to create and monitor Halcyon’s financial roadmap, yearly financial objectives, and strategic and long-range business plans.  
  • Participates in pivotal financial decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
  • Develops, recommends and monitors operating/capital budgets.
  • Provides regular analysis and advice on performance variances in terms of costs, budgets, operations, policies and performance opportunities, including significant issues and changes in conditions.
  • Functions as Treasurer, conducts banking and insurance relations, leads financial compliance and filing with local and national regulators, and is Halcyon’s principal liaison with governmental/regulatory bodies.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to the Finance Committee of the Board. Oversees, in conjunction with the Finance Committee, Halcyon’s portfolio and financial initiatives.
  • Conducts QA/QC for Halcyon Controller’s outputs including external audits, financial reports, and statistics for periodic and annual financial statements,  ensuring financial reporting is accurate and error-free.
  • Researches and analyzes general economic, business and financial conditions and their impact on the Halcyon’s policies and operations.


Minimum Education Required:

BA/BS in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA preferred


Minimum Experience Required:

10 years+ in progressively responsible financial leadership roles using integrated automated systems. Minimum three years senior management experience including project management of a significant project.
