This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 2-3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA).


The primary function of a Tax Advisor is to give tax advice, prepare tax returns, and provide relevant tax information needed to serve Glenmede’s clients. The Tax Advisor in this position will have responsibility for return preparation for numerous individuals, business entities, and entrepreneurial clients. In addition to the preparation of income tax returns, this may include filing responsibilities for household employees, and managing other tax issues faced by high-net-worth clients.


Tax preparation. Prepare Federal and State Tax Returns for the following: Individual, Partnership, S Corporation, and Gift. Participate in peer review of Federal and State returns prepared by other department members. Provide timely and proactive planning advice to clients. Monitor changes in tax laws for all accounts and notify impacted parties. Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Extensive overtime required during tax season.

Client service. Act as an initial point of contact for tax inquiries. Work closely with other members of the firm to best meet our client’s needs. Respond to tax authority notices on behalf of clients including handling of tax audits.

Firm Building. Develop a strong knowledge of Tax functions, policies, procedures, and best practices. Participate in special projects and identify process improvements. Contribute to department talent through in-house training sessions. Mentor and advise junior staff. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required
  • An accountant with four to seven years’ experience in preparation of individual income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA with Masters in Tax preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain tax concepts to clients and others in a clear and intelligent manner
  • Excellent knowledge of technology with emphasis on spreadsheet, word processing, and tax preparation software (Excel and MS Word required, CCH ProSystem a plus)
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of activities under significant pressure
  • Ability to interact politely and effectively with high-net-worth clients, attorneys, CPAs and co-workers
