The Greater Washington Society of CPAs is currently seeking a part-time program staff, responsible for interfacing with the membership and general public as well as handling daily tasks such as phone reception and database entry, and supporting program staff with regular seminars, special events and membership meetings. This is a fast paced, small office setting that will require the skill to regularly move between duties in a number of different arenas.
We are looking for someone to work a fixed schedule of either 16-20 hours per week. In office hours will typically be 8 AM -12 PM daily either four or five days per week, with some flexibility provided event coverage is effectively managed. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain a wide variety of experiences in a nonprofit setting, for someone with a limited schedule due to college classes or childcare needs, or someone with experience who is looking for a lighter workload. There is the possibility this could develop into a full time position a year from now for someone if they are a good fit and it makes sense for both them and the organization.
1+ years administrative/office management experience, preferably within a non-profit setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
Ability to problem-solve and identify issues requiring the attention of other staff
Excellent technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new platforms
