Financial Assistant (part-time position)
Assists Executive Director and others in the management of Capitol Hill non-profit association’s finances. Some duties include: preparing all payable checks and obtaining proper signatures for disbursement; handling payroll, withholding and tax submissions; maintaining general accounting records and personnel records. Staff person serves as primary intermediary with banks, insurance agents and companies, pension administrators and institutions. Also handles administration of health and life insurance for employees and maintains all financial records including audit reports, investment records, tax returns, budgets, fixed asset log and depreciation records.
Knowledge of current accounting/bookkeeping practices is essential. Familiarity with insurance, pension systems preferred. Position is roughly 15-20 hours per week.
