GWSCPA Surveys Members on Great Resignation
In an effort to understand sentiment among our members as we all grapple with the “great resignation” that is upon us, we conducted a brief anonymous survey from Oct. 25-29. This is not a statistically significant sample, and all respondents self-selected to participate, but the responses were telling. 20% of respondents had left their job during the pandemic. Of those that remained, 48% are thinking about leaving their jobs now. A third of those are actively looking.
What does this mean for employers in this area, and what can they do to stem the tide? Some insight can be found in the responses to two open ended questions in this survey:
- Why do you want to leave your job?
- Is there anything your employer could do to keep you?
