Overview

Harvard Business Review says emotional intelligence is twice as important as technical skills for success at all levels in the workplace. The World Economic Forum ranks emotional intelligence abilities in the top 10 skills for 2023 and beyond.

Through education and training, we learn the technical skills we need for success at work. But often we aren’t formally trained in emotional intelligence skills - how to successfully connect, communicate and collaborate. Yet we know these ‘soft skills’ are also essential to our success.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize and manage your feelings and those of others to guide how you think and act.  Strengthening your emotional intelligence will improve your ‘people‘ skills and help you be more satisfied and successful.

You’ll come away from our session with a deeper understanding of how emotional intelligence (or its lack!) is experienced by you – how it feels and its impact on you. We will learn about the science of emotions and how they affect our thinking, decisions, and performance. After an overview of the six emotional intelligence competencies and example behaviors that demonstrate them, you will then have the opportunity to consider at least one behavior you could begin doing right away to increase your emotional intelligence for even more positive impact.

This will be a virtual session, a login link will be sent out prior to the event.
