Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Billing and Purchase Order (PO) processing: Staff Accountant will work with Business Development Manager to create and send invoices for Organizational Subscribers, Advertising, Exhibitors, and Sponsors. Any resultant POs from the invoicing of Organizations will be processed by the Staff Accountant through various vendor systems. This role will also work with the Events Team to process POs for registrations. Staff must be comfortable with occasionally speaking with members/advertisers on the phone for various purposes.
- Accounts Payable: Staff Accountant will process bi-weekly accounts payable ensuring proper approval, GL Coding, and documentation to include W-9, invoice, and receipts with appropriate.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Staff Accountant will complete detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Vendor Forms: Staff Accountant will complete vendor forms with business information as requested by an account receivable client.
- Month End Close: Staff Accountant will be assigned various monthly, quarterly, and annual closing items.
- Additional Duties and Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be motivated to grow in their career and evolve with Association. As competency and desire for growth are demonstrated additional projects and responsibilities will be assigned.
- Process remittances
- Support the Annual Audit: preparation of audit schedules are determined by the accounting manager.
- Interact and collaboration with staff in a positive, proactive, and productive manner.
- Respond to all vendor and customer inquires via phone, email, fax, and mail regarding financial transactions, tax forms, etc.
- Document internal standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA exams passed/eligible preferred
- Grant accounting experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge Microsoft Office 365
- Experience in managing multiple tasks within aggressive timelines
- Prior business and professional environment experiences desired
Schedule, Travel, and Work Environment:
- Flexible work schedule, though core hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm local time. Includes unpaid 30+minute lunch, flextime and compressed work week schedules are available for this position based not he supervisor’s approval. Hybrid office and work from home percentages based on the supervisors approval.
