Position Summary Destination DC (DDC) is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the Finance & Administration (F&A) team. The Staff Accountant will be assisting the accounting department with a wide variety of duties including AP/AR invoicing and collections. To succeed in this role, you should be detail-oriented, and a self-motivated thorough researcher with excellent communication and recordkeeping skills. During your typical day, you will be making check deposits and working with different ERP systems to trace and record customer payments. You will be working with other departments to resolve any billing discrepancies and assist with collections. In addition to AR responsibilities, you will also be assisting with Concur report review and sending reminders for missing reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(include the following, but are not limited to)

  1. Performs AR and AP processing: this position will be cross-trained with another Staff Accountant. The division of duties will be determined based on work experience and proficiencies.
  2. Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
  3. Mail/email monthly customer statements and invoices for non-membership dues.
  4. Prepare daily deposits for all banking transactions and cash transactions for the organization.
  5. Run/update Aged Receivable Report and make collection calls.
  6. Review customer records to ensure these contain correct email addresses and contact names.
  7. Distribute AMEX/VISA statements and cover pages to managers.
  8. Conduct weekly review of staff expense reports and audit them periodically.
  9. Review scanned records to ensure accuracy.
  10. Process incoming mail concerning billing and invoicing for F&A department.
  11. Maintains and improves knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  12. Assist with implementing a new ERP system.
  13. Assist with Audit requests: gathers information and documents during annual audit.
  14. Other special projects as assigned.

What You Bring: Experience, Competencies & Education

  1. 2-3 years of accounting experience required.
  2. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  3. Any combination of training and experience equivalent to the graduation from an associate degree program in Accounting is preferred.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  5. Experienced with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems. ERP system implementation experience and/or interest in learning new systems preferred.
  6. Comfortable using a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  7. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment.
  9. Able to multi-task and detail oriented.
  10. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  11. Personal commitment to excellence, professionalism, and creativity.
  12. Very responsive to internal and external customers.
