Small accounting firm located in Fairfax, VA, is in need of a Senior Tax Accountant to assist small business clients with their accounting and tax needs.

Tax Manager

Leads and manages multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:  

• Preparation and review of federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, and exempt organizations
• Signs tax returns as preparer
• Responds to client questions about taxes, prepares tax projections
• Responds to tax authorities
• Build new and existing client relationships
• Manages multiple clients, budgets, and production goals
• Trains staff, reviews & evaluates their work
• Works to improve firm processes, workflows, and procedures

Qualifications:  

• CPA with 5+ years prior experience in public accounting preparing individual and business tax returns
• Strong grasp of Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 is required
• Strong accounting and analytical skills
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software, Excel, Word
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Detail oriented & ability to multi-task
• 1+ years of supervisory experience
