Senior Accountant
Core Accounting Functions · Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with precision · Prepare and post journal entries in compliance with accounting standards · Process invoices, approve payments, and communicate with vendors · Manage billing, collections, and customer account reconciliations
Financial Reporting & Analysis · Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures · Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts · Ensure accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions · Support budget preparation and monitoring initiatives · Conduct variance analysis and develop financial forecasts for business planning Compliance & Tax Support · Prepare workpapers for partnership and nonprofit tax returns · Monitor changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance · Review returns prepared by external CPA firms Continuous Improvement · Identify and recommend enhancements to accounting processes · Collaborate on implementing best practices to boost efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
Required · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field · CPA certification · At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally with small to mid-sized organizations · Solid grasp of GAAP and core accounting principles · Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel · Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities · Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team Preferred · Nonprofit accounting experience · Familiarity with Bill.com, Payhawk, or similar platforms
