For the Board of Directors, we seek accomplished and connected professionals committed to guiding and growing Learning Life. We welcome all interested candidates, though we are especially interested in finding leaders with at least ten years of experience in fundraising, finance, strategy, communications or marketing, and/or extensive connections in the diplomatic, democracy, or education sectors. BOD members must be willing to help meet fundraising goals by giving and/or getting funds. BOD members do not need to live in the metro Washington DC area, but should live in the USA. BOD members serve two-year terms, renewable for up to four consecutive terms given members’ willingness and their fulfillment of board service expectations. BOA members serve as long as they are willing so long as they meet the expectations below. BOD members are expected to:
- Attend BOD quarterly meetings via Zoom.
- Lead or assist in BOD work between meetings as needed.
- Advise and assist in at least one area of Learning Life’s work (e.g., legal, fundraising, communications, programming, evaluation).
- Give and/or get (donate and/or fundraise) at least $500 per year to help advance Learning Life’s work
